“Jreu!” a voice called out, causing my already leaning head to fall dramatically to the side.

“Damn, what?” I snapped, rubbing my neck as I glared over at Honey.

She was standing in the door frame with her arms folded across her chest, looking at me like I was crazy. I hadn’t even realized I’d dozed off and was caught off guard by the interruption. From the sharp pain I was already feeling I knew my shit was going to be sore from jerking so hard.

“Okay, rudeness. I called your name before I hit the door and realized you were in here sleeping…again.”

“My bad Honey dip...I mean Honey,” I quickly corrected, thinking of the time Kia got in her feelings behind the way I greeted my employee.

Calling her Honey Dip was all innocent fun and Kia’s ass wasn’t even here right now. Still, I wanted to get out of the habit of doing that so Kia wouldn’t read more into it than need be. Should the two of them ever land in the same room again, I didn’t want shit to be weird. Don’t ask me why I even cared so much about what Kia thought because after months of us spending time in either her bed or mine, I still hadn’t figured out what it was about that woman that had me switching up.

Sure, the pussy was superb but good pussy wasn’t that hard to come by. There had to be something else that kept me coming back. Shit got even deeper after I showed up to her place to talk about my dad. We didn’t have sex but instead, ended up spending hours just laughing and talking about everything and nothing while she sewed away on her machine. “Why do you keep doing that?” Honey asked, breaking me out of my thoughts.

Looking at her from across the room, I didn’t miss the hint of sadness in her eyes.

“Doing what?”

“You know what, it’s nothing,” she quickly said with a dismissive shake of her head.

I shrugged it off before letting out a long yawn.

“I may need you to grab me an energy drink. I have to finish this last round of retouching on Amerie’s photos and get them back to her by the end of day.”

“You do and you also need to be ready to deal with Charlize and her high maintenance girls. I have all the backdrops you asked for as well as a few alternatives ready to go.”

“And the two rooms for the date night scenes?”

“All set up,” she quickly answered.

“Thank you, Honey. I swear I’d be lost without you,” I told her while pulling up this week's schedule. I noticed I had completely forgotten about the headshot appointment that followed Charlize’s shoot. “I’ll definitely need that drink. Matter-of-fact, buy enough of them joints to stock the fridge and grab us some lunch while you’re out. It’s about to be a long day.”

Nodding, she sat on the edge of my desk and began scrolling.
